Still playing make believe.

Blessed is She

We are blessed.

Very blessed. Even when things didn’t go the way we want them to. (And sometimes they go the exact opposite.)

When it rains on the days we want to picnic. When the child we’re carrying goes to heaven before it sees the light of day. When a man drinks and drives his truck on the wrong side of the road to kill your entire family one spring morning.

We are blessed.

When joints stop working long before they should. When a heart attacks although there’s no reason for it. When a marriage ends, but it shouldn’t.

We ARE blessed.

He gave us colors in a world that could as easily have been shades of gray. He gave us music when we could have had none. He gave us wind for our kites and hills to coast down and smiles and kisses for lips that didn’t have to do more than open and close.

He gave us flavors.

  • Friendship.
  • Joy.
  • Excitement.
  • Imagination.

AND LOVE!

We are so very, very blessed!

For as long as I can remember, I've loved two things--reading and people--and that led me to become a writer. Many of my stories are set in Small Town Worlds. I'm a wife, mother, sibling and an aunt. I have a deep faith in God, and an exciting life in Christ. Maybe I shouldn't be (after all, he's God!) but I'm constantly amazed at the things He's up to. :)

  1. Beautiful, sweet ‘Sister of Words’. Very well said, as usual, it came straight from the heart!

    • It did come from the heart, Deb. And from my verse this fortnight.
Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished. Luke 1:45.
Now I need to hear when the Lord speaks.

  2. Susan, so well put….you captured it wonderfully; thank you for the reminder that we are blessed.

  3. You forgot one blessing…Susan Shay!

  4. That’s what I tell everyone about our family…so many blessings. Your Grandmother= my Aunt Ruby, which makes us a huge blessed family?

    • I’m always amazed at how good God is to us, Bea. And you’re right, our family is such a beautiful blessing. A GREAT BIG beautiful blessing! LOL. Just keeps getting bigger, doesn’t it?
All I can say is, THANK YOU, JESUS!

I'm so glad you dropped by my Small Town World! Hope you'll leave a comment. I really enjoy hearing from you!
