Still playing make believe.

Everlasting

A Facebook friend posted this and I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to share. I hope you like it.

I’m usually the last person to hear a group or a new song, and I can’t tell you the name of the people singing this. But I love the message they’re filling my heart with.

The other day a friend (I think it was Dorothea, my golden voiced hair guru said, “Yada, yada, Michael W. Smith.” (I just now had to look up the name. It was a will-not-retain moment.)

I answered, “Who’s that?”

Mi-chael Double-Yew Smiiiith,” she repeated as if I hadn’t been able to understand her words.

“Yeah, I heard the name. I just don’t know who that is. Speaker? Singer?”

“He’s a Christian singer, and he’s great.” I don’t remember if it was Dorothea I had that conversation with, but that’s the way I am. Once in a while I buy a CD I just love and I play it over and over until I know every word.

But mostly I listen to Christian talk radio. (Bott Radio Network–95.1 fm.) And lately, I’ve enjoyed Beth Moore‘s “Believing God” Bible study as I drive to work.

As we spend my 15 minute (or so) drive together, I often wish I could take notes. (I don’t.) And each time I listen to one of the first three sessions (that’s all I’ve downloaded so far) I hear something I missed before.

I’m so blessed by hearing God’s Word spoken, I’d much rather listen to it than music while I drive. I know it makes me weird compared to the rest of the world, but that’s me.

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord cause his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6: 24-26 NIV.

(Practicing my SSMT.)

So, what do you listen to while you drive? Radio station? Favorite CD? Come on, share with me. You just might rock someone’s world.
