I love you.
Three little words, eight letters, but they say so much. Do so much. Mean so much. Start so much. Remember the first time the love of your life said those words to you?
I do. (My dementia hasn’t blotted that yet. LOL) And when I remember the moment, I relive the jolt that exploded in my heart.
WOOHOO! The man I’d fallen head-over-heels for loved me, too!
Wanna read about our first date? Check it out. 😉
Love. Seems like everybody LOVES that word. And why not? Since God is love (1 John 4:8) isn’t falling in love is putting God in the middle of everything?
Want a test so you can tell if it’s really love?
Here you go–
Love doesn’t give up. (Ever.)
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always me, me, me. (Me, first!)
Doesn’t have a bad temper and a short fuse.
Doesn’t keep a list of the other person’s wrongs.
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Adores the truth.
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Looks for the best,
Never looks back,
keeps going to the end.
Did you pass the test? Did he?
In case you’re wondering, that’s in 2 Corinthians 13, “the love chapter.” Translation –The Message with a few word changes by moi.
It also says, Love never dies.
Don’t you love it? Even if your loved one has passed on–or moved on–they still love you because LOVE NEVER DIES!
How cool is that?
For V Day dinner I’m fixing prime rib. We got Starbucks gift cards for the kiddos and I’m giving G-Man a printer. He’s giving me a grill pan. (We’re not real good at keeping secrets.)
So what are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Giving anybody a really cool gift?
