SSMT-2

I’ve made it to the 2nd day of SSMT, which is the brainchild of Beth Moore at Living Proof, allowed God to create through her.

Beth doesn’t seem to want the glory for what she does. From what I can tell (I just finished downloading and listening to all nine sessions of The Inheritance) she is very sincere, a woman of God. His vessel.

If you’ve never heard, met or seen Beth Moore (and for some reason I hadn’t until last summer) here’s my description of her–She’s like a Texas Cowboy Cheerleader who’s channeling God.

I’m not trying to be irreverent or disrespectful, but Ms. Moore is from Texas and she has all the verve and enthusiasm of a world-class cheerleader, and she lives her life for God.

Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. – 1 John 2:6

From what I’ve seen and heard, Beth does.

Today is January 15th, so it’s time to go to her blog and put in my memory verse: I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, have the power along with all the saints to grasp how deep and long and wide is the love of Christ. Eph. 3:18 NIV

Okay, I can never remember which comes first–long, deep or wide, but I’ve got the gist, and that’s what matters. Right?

I’ll also be telling her what my next verse is. It’s one that I badly need to learn–Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult but with blessing, because to this you were called that you might inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9 NIV

It’s a tough rule, and I’m very sure without Help, I can’t do it, but with this verse memorized, I’ll have a much better chance of obeying it.

Won’t I?

If you haven’t started SSMT, it’s not too late. (You know what they say, it’s NEVER too late.) Jump on over to the Living Proof website and click on Blog.

God might speak to you, too.

For as long as I can remember, I've loved two things--reading and people--and that led me to become a writer. Many of my stories are set in Small Town Worlds. I'm a wife, mother, sibling and an aunt. I have a deep faith in God, and an exciting life in Christ. Maybe I shouldn't be (after all, he's God!) but I'm constantly amazed at the things He's up to. :)

  1. Wow! It’s great to “meet” you! I found you through the pingback on my blog from being mentioned as a “related article”. Thanks!

I have already gone and posted my verse: Deuteronomy 4:39. I’m reading through the Bible in 90 Days too, and I ran across that verse in my reading last night. I got so excited about it that I decided to make that my verse for the next two weeks. I want that in my heart so I can fall back on it when times get tough!

I hope to meet you in person next January at the SSMT Celebration in Houston!

    • Hi Jennifer! It’s great to meet you, too! I’ve always wondered what a pingback was. Thanks to you, I now know!
I’m reading through the Bible in a year for the first time this year. I just saw the 90 Days today–probably on your blog! LOL.

I’m so excited about all the SSMTers this year. Didn’t Beth say that’s about four times as many as the last time? It makes me think about Acts 2:17–“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Houston next January would be fantastic! If I get to go, I’ll look for you.
      Thanks for dropping by!
      Susan
