This one’s easy. I had been writing for several years, submitting manuscripts to category publishers. Then a writer friend of mine said she was going to write and submit a book to a new publisher she’d found–Ellora’s Cave. They were an epublisher of erotic romance, relatively new on the scene, so I went to their website and downloaded a few books.

Whoa. Smokin hot romance, and I fell in love with the stories I read there. I just knew I had to write a book and submit it to this publisher, because my inner voice was screaming thatt I would fit in there. I wrote the first three chapters lightning fast, then the synopsis, laying out the entire story, then submitted a query. The editor wanted to see more, so I finished the book in a hurry and submitted it. It was the easiest book I ever wrote. My voice just ‘fit’. I had always written hot love scenes, and when I was submitting to the other publishers, I had to tone it down. Now I didn’t have to. Ellora’s Cave published my first book and I had found a home for my style of writing. A true Ah-Ha! moment for me, finding that I write with deep passion. Always have to listen to that ‘inner voice’.
